Aldershot Elementary School Renovations

As announced in a letter to parents/guardians from Principal Karen Dyke on October 14, final work on the Aldershot Elementary School gymnasium addition is now wrapping up.

On September 20, the contract for the second phase of renovations was awarded to Roscoe Construction Limited. This second phase will include upgrades to classrooms, a new learning centre, library, music and art room, as well as a new office and improvements throughout the building. As of October 6, the contractor was already putting resources in place to begin this work.

It is important to note that the schedule for renovations has changed. We now anticipate that the substantial completion date will be in early March, 2012. Understandably, the entire school community is looking forward to returning to Aldershot, so we will keep you updated on the renovation timeline as we approach the completion date. Any decision about the return date will be made in consultation with the school community and with the best interests of students in mind.
